Chartered Environmentalist
Congratulations to Martin Petts who became a Chartered Environmentalist in March. His new status denotes a sound knowledge, proven experience and a profound commitment to sustainable best practice within the construction sector.
The qualification was gained through the Chartered Institute of Building which is licensed to award the status on behalf of the Society for the Environment.
Managing director Robin Blake in congratulating Martin said: “We take our responsibilities very seriously at Ashe and we are developing our understanding of the effects of our work on the community and the environment as a whole. Having a board member to champion Ashe’s sustainability initiatives shows our awareness and commitment to best practice in the area.”
As a Chartered Environmentalist, Martin will be responsible for spreading Ashe’s sustainability messages up and down the supply chain. He said: “The construction industry is a key sector in the pursuit of sustainable development both in terms of what it provides society and the negative impacts it can cause. In order to successfully pursue the goals of sustainability in construction, leadership must play a key role. As a Chartered Environmentalist I will be in a position to influence clients, professionals and policy makers on all aspects of the environment and sustainability. I will also be at the forefront in incorporating new ideas about sustainability and technological advances in our operations. My vision is to inspire our supply chain to improve their business practices which will further enhance the completion of successful sustainable developments.”
